So What If It's Raining?

Said the back yard birds...

Tuesday was the first time I'd seen fledgling bluebirds in our yard.
Three more bluebirds
Perhaps they were looking for worms.
I should put some meal worms out for them.
These two were huddled together during a break in the rain.
Aren't they cute?
Shake it off!
Here Comes the Rain Again...
A young cardinal gets a taste of wet suet from its mama.
I doubt there were any dry spots to be found that day

Too Much Rain

I would be willing to bet that if this Northern Cardinal could speak English, he'd probably complain about all the rain we've had lately.  We have received more than normal for the month of May.  While the frequent rain showers are good for my flower gardens, it's not so good for the birds who depend upon insects to feed their nestlings.

Even worse, heavy downpours of rain have wrecked havoc in the states of Texas and Oklahoma.  The massive flooding in portions of those states have caused a few deaths and there are still people missing.  Hundreds of homes have been washed away.  Businesses damaged or destroyed.  Such a sad situation...please remember them in prayer.

After the Rain...

The early morning sky released a downpour of chilling rain yesterday...
what started out as the promise of a warm day turned into a chilly one instead.

The rain lasted only minutes, but it was heavy enough to
create puddles in our front yard
and saturate the flowers and plants on our front porch.

But, I didn't complain...
because things were more beautiful, after the rain.

Sometimes I forget the benefits of a drenching rain...
today I was reminded of them.
